Special Features – #LGEarthlyEclectic

#LGEarthlyEclectic is our latest project in Southern California and is full of tons of special features.

If you’re anything like me and love a custom moment, I think you’ll appreciate what we did with this beautiful home! From unique design elements to custom furniture, this Spanish-inspired home has all sorts of fun spaces. Continue below to get a look at some of my favorite special features in our #LGEarthlyEclectic remodel!

Wine Room

Our clients for this project had quite the wine collection, so we put some extra thought into the wine room. We wanted it to be a place for them to not only relax and enjoy a glass or two but also a spot to entertain guests and show off their bottles. Originally, the bricks were a classic red, but since that didn’t go with the interior style we were aiming for, we painted over them with Dunn Edwards Swiss Coffee to make it more modern. With romantic and intimate seating, it’s the perfect place for our clients to unwind and get away from the kids.

Bar

I absolutely love collaborating with clients and bringing their visions and dreams to life. For this specific project, we knew incorporating a bar was going to be essential. They love entertaining, and what better way to do that than with a custom-built bar that’s hidden but within reach? Hidden within the white oak built-in, this bar features plenty of space for glassware, bottle openers, and other trinkets. The door itself is arched, adding to that Spanish architecture vibe we were going after. And upon opening it, you’re met with shelving and drawers galore! I’m especially a fan of the backsplash – it’s a Bone Loose Zellige and just brings everything together.

Movie Theater

Since this family loves to entertain and spend time together, we couldn’t think of a better feature than a movie theater! With a green velvet couch and multi-level seating, it feels like a luxury movie theater in every sense. All they need to do is choose a movie, pop some popcorn, and enjoy their night!

Home Gym

When it comes to health and exercise, it’s something a lot of us have really put more focus into, especially since the start of Covid. That’s why our clients wanted to have access to a home gym! So of course we went the luxurious route and gave it an Equinox-style makeover. All of the equipment they could ever need is included. Think weights, machines, and more! Then there are the white oak built-ins, great for storing things like yoga mats, bands, jump-ropes, and more. But the star of the show has to be the steam shower—perfect for using after a hard workout!

Cabana

Our clients live in sunny Southern California, so they absolutely needed an outdoor area fit for entertaining! This custom cabana area is located just off the pool with access to a TV and even a barbecue. I’m especially loving how we styled this area—just look at how adorable the Jacquie Pendant is!

Entertainment Room

With over 10,000 square feet for this home, there are plenty of options for entertainment. In addition to the family room and theatre is the entertainment room, which is a fun area to sit down, relax, and chat with friends and family. This is located at the top of the stairs, which some people might not be used to. But with so much square footage, we thought it was important to break everything up and spread it out! This room features gorgeous built-ins that we stained in an ebony color. I especially love how it pops next to the croissant-style chairs and sofa!

Bonus Room

If you’re a reader—prepare to be insanely jealous. This bonus room is really more of a reading nook, and it just might be the best room in the entire home. With the underbelly made from white oak and the walls painted in Dunn Edwards Muslin, our clients can relax, read, and unwind in this area. There is tons of shelving available for decor and books, so we made sure to do a mixture of both.

Other Fun Features

  • Reeded Wood Features: Throughout the entirety of the home are reeded wood features. From the wall in the family room to the fridge doors and backsplash of certain shelving, we really got into this feature!
  • Raked Plaster: Raked plaster is a must when it comes to designing a modern Spanish-style home. From the living room to the hallways to the bedrooms, we incorporated this all throughout the home.
  • Herringbone White Oak Flooring: One of the more modern elements of the home was our use of herringbone-styled flooring. Crafted from beautiful white oak, I absolutely love how the flooring turned out, especially since they were original to the home! All we did was sand them down and apply a natural stain.
  • Touch-Latch Cabinets and Drawers: There’s just something about functional and practical spaces I’m in love with. And that’s just what we did with our incorporation of touch-latch cabinets and drawers throughout the home!
  • Glass Steam Shower: The most luxurious aspect of the home just might be the glass steam shower in the primary bathroom. Glass doors encase a standing tub and a steam shower, and the end result looks like a spa!
