Masculine Home Design Tips and Tricks

When it comes to designing a home with a masculine touch, there are all sorts of things you need to take into consideration.

Whether you’re a bachelor or feel like your home is a little too much on the feminine side, all you need to do is add a few masculine touches here and there. Not sure where to begin? Continue reading below to look at some of my design tips and tricks for creating the perfect masculine design within your home.

Choose a Design Style

There is no specific design style that you need to implement to create a masculine home. In fact, you can choose any style you like! From coastal to post-modern, mid-century, and even industrial, there are various options to choose from. It is all about the furniture and decor elements that enhance the masculinity within the space. Our Jade Aluminum Tray is a great item to start with.

Play With Geometric Patterns

Geometric patterns play a huge role in making your home look more masculine. By sticking with sharp edges and sleek lines, there’s just something about the rigidity that gives off a masculine vibe! On the other hand, feminine designs typically include round and curved edges.

I love our Puzzle Pieces 1 from the shop, which plays with geometric patterns!

Stick to Cool Colors

If you want your home to look more masculine, keep to cool colors. Hues like grey, brown, black, and navy will provide your home with a manly design. Cool colors are a must, whether in small objects, linens, rugs, or pieces of art. To add some cool tones, take a look at our Henley Throw.

Mix Wood and Metals

Mixing materials is great if you want to make more of a masculine-looking home. Wood and metal, in particular, are a great place to start. Think rustic wood pieces aside iron, concrete, and even steel. Brass and oak look stunning together in our Blakely Side Table!

Incorporate Art Pieces

While simplicity is better for a masculine home, that doesn’t mean your walls should be completely bare. Art is a fantastic way to show off your personal sense of style, and big, bold pieces will give your home more of a manly look. I’m a big fan of our Imprinted art piece.

Invest in Leather Furniture

When you think of a typical man cave, I’m willing to bet the first thing you think of is a leather couch. Now, I’m not saying a leather couch has to be in your home, but it would give an instant masculine effect. Or, you could invest in leather accent chairs, side tables with leather detail, or even pillows. Our Cayo Sur Sofa is made from top-grain leather and would look amazing.
