How to Organize Your Home

If you’re wondering how to organize your home aesthetically, you’ve come to the right place. Adapting organizational needs and methods for your home is necessary for keeping things structured and provides your home with an added touch of style.

With years of being an interior designer, I know exactly how to organize your home effectively and efficiently in a stylish way. I’ve got you covered from beautiful glassware storage in the pantry to more significant items like hutches for storing china or barware! Below, you’ll find a list of the major rooms in your home that might require organization, along with some of my favorite products to help you do just that.

Kitchen Storage

One of my favorite rooms in the house to organize has to be the kitchen, so why not start there? I’m a big proponent of using glass over plastic and find pretty much any excuse to use it. Instead of opting for plastic Tupperware or ziplock bags, go for something like these Sofia Canisters. They will keep your dried goods fresh, and since it’s so chic in style, you’ll want to put this on display. Whether you store your favorite cereal or fresh oats in these canisters, trust me when I say you’ll love this purchase.

Pantry Storage

I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love Organization TikTok. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, I’m about to rock your world! Labeling has completely taken over the app, especially when it comes to the pantry. Instead of keeping your food, spices, and other dried goods in their original packaging, switch them out with these Linden Canisters. Adorned with a salvaged iron pull and a reclaimed wood lid, this will keep everything fresh. Then, find some suitable labels to put on the containers. I love these from Etsy because you get to customize each label to the foods and goods you use daily. Whether it’s something like orzo or whole wheat pasta, it is completely up to you!

Dining Storage

The dining room might not be the first room that comes to mind when you think of organizing your home, but it’s a great little nook in the house that you can put to use. If you have some extra space, I love the idea of investing in a beautiful piece of furniture to store things like barware or china. The Bixby Hutch is extraordinary because of its versatile function of going from day to night styling. So, whether you want to store something like books and trinkets or your favorite martini glasses, getting a hutch might be for you!

Living Room Storage

Living rooms tend to get a lot of traffic in any home. Whether entertaining friends or having a family movie night, most of our living rooms have a media station. You probably have a TV and, if you have kids, all kinds of game consoles. Keep gaming devices, controllers, and stray wires tucked away and organized with a console! The Pismo Sideboard is a fabulous, high-quality piece that would look great in any home. Complete with multiple doors for storage, you can finish anything and everything here.

Bathroom Storage

Another high traffic room in all homes is the bathroom. Whether you have one or five, one thing remains true—you need to keep things tidy and in check! If you have a bathroom used primarily for guests, I suggest placing rolled-up hand towels in a basket. I’m a fan of these Baya Baskets! And for on the counter, use small glass containers to hold things like cotton rounds, q-tips, and more. When it comes to your bathroom, make it feel like a spa by putting all of your favorite bath accessories on display! This Rigby Canister is perfect for Epsom salts or even bath bombs. When you use items like fluted mouth-blown glass and woven baskets, you’re getting a place to store your provisions stylishly.

Laundry Room Storage

If you find yourself in your laundry room daily, why not keep it as organized and aesthetically-pleasing as possible? This Meyer Glass Container is durable, heavy-duty, and can display things like fabric softening sheets or even laundry scent beads. And for the main event—the laundry itself! Invest in some beautiful woven baskets. I like having one for whites, one for colors, and one for intimates. It’s cute to look at and will make your life much easier.

Bedroom Storage

Last but not least, let’s talk about bedroom storage! The Ruth Dresser will be a great option if you need a spacious dresser. With six medium drawers and three large drawers, this has a lot of space for clothes and intimates. And if you’re anything like me and always need an extra blanket on hand, our Edmund Basket is a great size and would look beautiful in any room.
