The top trending paint colors for fall

Desperately craving a décor transformation? Paint it! If you’ve ever done a paint project at home or hired a professional to refresh the paint color on your walls, then you know how much of an impact the right paint color can make to your space. Even as a seasoned designer myself, it never ceases to amaze me how much just one can of paint can elevate a room. However, you do have to take your time when picking the right color. This rings especially true if you’re focusing on choosing a paint color that brings in a season you love like autumn, which is what we’ll be discussing today: My top trending paint colors for fall!

There are millions of different paint colors out there, but I’ve hand-picked this grouping below because they are all colors that can transition into other seasons (not just fall!), while still capturing the warmth of autumn through earthy tones. If you want to create an impact

Balance Color with Neutrals

If you’re going to go bold with a trending paint color, use deeper hues on an accent wall and be sure to surround it with neutral furniture so that you’re not adding too many elements into the mix. Take this modern bedroom above, for example… The blue / green hue on the accent wall, which is similar to Farrow & Balls’ Inchyra Blue, works well only because the furniture and décor is super minimal and neutral. Can you imagine how the room would be so much less “designed” feeling without that pop of color?

If you want a change to a warmer tone while still keeping a light and bright feel

Consider the Difference Between Cool and Warm White Paints

In this gorgeous living room designed byAmber Interiors, can you see how the wall paint tone is warmer instead of cooler? On the walls is a warm cream, whereas the ceiling dons a bright, cooler-toned eggshell white. I love how this room embraces a warmer white because it gives me all the fall feels. Try this yourself by being open to a creamier tone, like Joa’s White, and if you still want to implement a cooler-toned white, take a hint from the photo above and go two-toned with your walls and ceiling.

And, if you aren’t ready to commit to a painting a wall
