Primary Suite Retreat – #LGEarthlyEclectic

Just last week, we revealed our #LGEarthlyEclectic home, and the feedback we got was overwhelming! Everyone wanted more details about the primary suite and its bathroom, so that’s exactly what I’m going to give you. This stunning California remodel is full of incredible Spanish influences with a modern twist, resulting in one of my favorite projects I’ve ever completed. Continue reading to get into the nitty-gritty of the #LGEarthlyEclectic primary suite!

Hallway Details

When you enter the hallway to the primary suite bedroom, you see a gorgeous arched entryway. This little piece of Spanish-influenced architecture felt right and gave off a truly luxurious feel. Raked plaster adorns the walls that subtly lead into the bathroom entrance, giving the most decadent texture.

Bedroom Walls + Ceiling

I adore the color we went with for three out of the four-bedroom walls. It is Dunn Edwards Muslin DE6227 which is a beautiful warm neutral hue. It blends in perfectly with the Spanish style and the truly magnificent ceiling. A beige, geometric yet bohemian wallpaper embellishes the wall behind the canopy bed, leaving such a lovely movement for the eye. The ceiling, made from white oak, contrasts the walls as it’s a deep ebony stain. It’s unexpected and just the modern twist our clients were after.

Custom Furniture

The primary suite is full of custom furniture, some of which is available to shop at our online store! For example, take a look at the Aurora Bench. It’s personally one of my favorite parts of the room due to the style and functionality of the piece!

Bedding

When we posted photos of the primary suite, everyone wanted to know all about the bedding. And guess what? It’s all shoppable on our site! The Antwerp Coverlet in Moss comes in a beautiful mossy-green hue and ties the whole room together. Paired with the Linen Sheets Set in Flax and the neutral pillows, I’m in love with how this turned out.

Built-Ins

Another custom area in the primary bedroom is the built-ins. Again, we went with a Spanish-style arch, and I think it looks simply fantastic. We kept the decor minimal, modern, and devoid of bright colors. The muted look is so understated and gives off a chic vibe.

Patio Area

Next up, I’d like to focus on the patio area. The doors leading to this space let in tons of natural light, giving the room an angelic, dreamy feel. We went with black steel doors, and I think it ties in nicely with the ceilings. And when you open the doors, you’re met with a lookout to the rolling hills of the canyon, which is a quaint and relaxing scene!

Bathroom Entry

We loved arches for this remodel, if you can’t tell by now. And that’s precisely why we did another arched entry into the primary bathroom this time! With the raked plaster details, it just screams luxury and honestly feels like you’re at a high-end spa!

Vanity

The vanity is another spot people wanted to hear more about, and for a good reason! As you may have noticed, reeded white oak runs throughout this home, and with no surprise, there is a star-worthy moment in this primary suite bath! We decided on a rounded vanity inset into a niche to showcase the white oak reeded back. We went with an integrated sink in gold-polished Calacatta, and included a double vanity so the couple could have their own space.

Steam Shower + Free-Standing Tub

Our clients wanted to feel completely relaxed when they stepped into their bathroom. I thought a great way to do that would be with a steam shower, something I think we could all use! The shower pan is snow-white Zellige, which looks perfect next to the free-standing tub. The tub is arched with reeded white oak and features gold hardware. This combination is unique and elegant, perfectly portraying our clients’ wants!

Bathroom Flooring

Next up is the decadent bathroom flooring! For this, we went with a daring Marrakesh Zellige tile, which gives the room some character. It contrasts the stark white shower and tub area, which offers a nice design element to the overall space.
