It’s no secret that Southern California is admittedly recognized for its crowded freeways filled with people fueled by Starbucks, weather temperaments where every season surfaces all in one week, and its apparent belief that almond milk builds stronger bones than dairy. However, it is also known for adding color and personality to its surf culture language! So, naturally, you could say that we were more than stoked when our lovely clients requested a California vibe with an underlying mid-century modern theme and some mixed eclectic pieces! Join me as I walk you through this beautiful Newport Beach home remodel!
KITCHEN & DINING ROOM
This house was built in the 90’s and needed a lot of updating. The floorplan was very tight, so we knocked down a wall separating the living space and kitchen. This opened up the downstairs, creating a much better flow between the spaces and letting in tons of natural light for that sunshine to make more of an appearance.
The clients were not afraid to embrace color for this Newport Beach home remodel, so we used a pop of soothing blue on the small kitchen island to ground the space and wake up the senses!
LIVING ROOM
We used an eclectic patterned tile for the fireplace which created a striking focal point for the room and added elements of texture and warmth to keep it inviting. We layered a natural rug, with a chic antique rug that was a match made in heaven! Mixing patterns is a delicate balance and we love how everything in this home worked together so beautifully!
MASTER BEDROOM
The sunny bedroom pays homage to the coastal California vibe, while mixing in a touch of mid-century modern. We love that the crisp, bright whites and deep blues provide a refreshing palette, creating a space for our clients to stylishly exist in.
